London History Day
In history, Reception pupils have been exploring historical change through the lens of local heritage, focusing on the construction
As History Lead, my goal is to spark a lifelong curiosity in our children about the people, places, and events that shaped our world. History at our school is so much more than memorising dates; it is about bringing the past to life. We want our pupils to build a rich, connected understanding of Britain’s heritage alongside the fascinating stories of the wider world.
In our classrooms, we treat our children as real historians. We train them to ask big, perceptive questions, think critically, and dive deep into historical evidence. By sifting through clues and weighing different arguments, they learn to form their own independent judgements. Ultimately, exploring history helps our pupils understand the beautiful complexity and diversity of human life. It teaches them how societies change, how different cultures connect, and helps them discover their own identity within our modern world.
