Year 5 and Year 6 had an unforgettable experience during their recent Discovery Day at the National Maritime Museum.
The day was packed with exciting, curriculum-linked activities centred around the theme of space. Pupils took part in two engaging workshops which combined multi-sensory activities and storytelling, helping them to deepen their understanding of scientific concepts in a fun and interactive way.
One of the highlights of the visit was the live Science Theatre Show, which brought the KS2 science curriculum to life. The children were captivated by the demonstrations and investigations, which encouraged curiosity, questioning and a sense of wonder about the world around them.
The pupils also had the opportunity to visit the new Astronomers Take Over exhibition and enjoy an amazing planetarium show. They were fascinated by the discoveries of astronomers and learned more about space, stars and our place in the universe.
The trip was both educational and inspiring, providing memorable experiences that enriched the children’s learning beyond the classroom. We were incredibly proud of the excellent behaviour, enthusiasm and engagement shown by all pupils throughout the day. Well done, Year 5 and Year 6, for making the most of this fantastic opportunity!
