As part of their on-going science topic discussing miniature beasts and their natural habitats, Year 2 children ventured outside to lift a rock or two, delve into a shrub and dig a little dirt to see how many tiny animals they could find today.
As it was a bit of a wet day today, the expected creatures were in abundance as we recorded multiple findings of wood-lice, snails, slugs, earth worms and spiders. The children then went back to their classrooms to record their findings and write an account of the day.
We took some pictures, which can be seen in the gallery below. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger view.
