Today we joined Laura and a small group of Nursery children for a session of “Talking Tables”. The Talking Table is a Speech and Language Therapy (SALT) method to encourage the children to develop and express their sense of wonder.
Children bring in small treasures to share with the children around the table, with careful challenges set by the teacher. This exercise is designed to improve communication and social aspects in the classroom.
In the gallery below you can see the children revealing their special object to the group and then telling the group about the object and why it is so special to them. Later, Laura and the group created a story based on the objects, which the group worked on together.
