For the past two weeks, years 3-6 have been learning all about tennis. The initial lesson was an introduction to the rules of tennis, how to hold a tennis racket and so on. Today the children in years 5 were learning how to control how they return a ball so that the ball lands in a specific location.
This exercise shows the children how to make decisions on how hard or soft to strike the ball with the racket to ensure that the ball reaches the specific target they are trying to reach. This is a difficult exercise to master and takes a lot of practice and focus.
We took some pictures of the lesson, which can be seen in the gallery below. Please click on the thumbnails for a larger view.
