The school currently holds a Basic Skills Quality mark in recognition of the work we do on promoting and developing our children’s English and Math skills. This award is reviewed on a three-year cycle.
On Thursday Diane Wilson our reviewer visited the school to carry out our review. She met with senior leaders, spoke with teachers and teaching assistants and met with a group of children from our brilliant school council. The children were very polite and respectful. They spoke with maturity and interest. Isabelle from Cutty Sark was particularly fascinated to hear that there has been recent uncovering of fossilized dinosaur prints in Hastings.
The review also looked at documentation demonstrating the schools hard work in developing English and maths skills. She was very impressed with the work carried out in school and the progress that children have made. She praised the work that is being carried out on developing the curriculum. She offered some useful ideas to help the school develop further and we now await her final report.
