Year 6 have been investigating how substances move within the body by exploring osmosis and diffusion.
Using gummy bears placed in different solutes, pupils observed how the solvent moved between areas of high and low concentration. This helped them understand how particles travel across membranes, linking the experiment to how nutrients are transported in the human body.
Through this hands‑on investigation, pupils made predictions, recorded results, and drew conclusions, developing a deeper and more secure understanding of these key scientific concepts.
