This week, Year 6 explored the work of Fiona Rae, a contemporary British artist based in Hackney, known for her vibrant, energetic abstract compositions. Pupils studied and discussed Rae’s unique style, learning how she combines colour, form and a variety of unexpected marks to create dynamic and expressive pieces.
Inspired by her approach, the children then created their own abstract artworks, experimenting with a range of media to express movement, emotion and imagination. Each piece reflects their individual creativity while drawing on the bold, playful qualities found in Rae’s work.
