As the weather has been lovely of late, we took Science Club outside at lunchtime with an exploration of bubbles!
This also enabled us to share our learning with the whole school. We explored home-made bubble mixture and wands. Using them, we looked more closely at the characteristics and behaviour of soap bubbles. Also, we learnt how to make giant bubbles and found out why bubbles are usually round.
This is because when you blow a soap bubble, a thin skin of soap solution that contains the air is always pulling inwards and the air is pushing outwards. The force pushing inwards and the force pushing outwards will always exactly balance making the final shape round. Amazing!
