Key Stage 2 (7-11 years) students are invited to design a flag that reflects the legacy and history of The Golden Hinde and the Age of Exploration. The winning designs will be made into real flags, flown in situ on The Golden Hinde. Submission Deadline: Friday 29th November 2024

Design Requirements:
- A4 size and landscape
- Designs should reflect themes tied to The Golden Hinde and a national curriculum subject e.g. History: The Age of Exploration, Elizabethan England, or Maritime History. Students might draw from Elizabethan symbolism, maps of the world, or themes of global discovery. Geography: World exploration, trade routes, and cultural exchange from Drake’s voyage. Art & Design: Focus on heraldic design, flag symbolism, and creativity in representing themes like adventure, exploration, and discovery.
Each submission must include a brief explanation (50-100 words) of the design’s meaning and its connection to the curriculum.
