As part of our Spanish Day celebrations, Year 6 pupils enjoyed a fantastic cooking activity where they made traditional Spanish Magdalenas (Spanish muffins).
Before they began baking, the children practised their Spanish language skills by requesting ingredients and equipment in Spanish. They confidently used key vocabulary and phrases to ask for the items they needed, bringing their classroom learning to life in a practical and engaging way.
Working together in teams, the pupils carefully measured ingredients, followed instructions and supported one another throughout the baking process. The activity encouraged collaboration, communication and problem-solving, while also providing an insight into Spanish culture and cuisine.
The delicious Magdalenas were a great success, and the children were proud to enjoy the treats they had worked so hard to make. Well done, Year 6, for demonstrating excellent teamwork and enthusiasm while celebrating Spanish language and culture!
