Year 1 have commenced their new science unit on plants. The children have been learning to identify and name a variety of plants found in their local environment and have developed an understanding that seeds grow into plants.
They combined their oracy and scientific enquiry skills to make predictions about plant growth and explored what plants need to grow and stay healthy. As part of the unit, pupils enjoyed learning how to plant a seed and were able to explain the steps involved with confidence and enthusiasm.
