On Tuesday, year 1 and 2 children were treated to a visit from Vanessa Woolf a professional storyteller and Rod Kitson a local artist and illustrator, who treated the children to a short art lesson.
It was a fantastic morning of storytelling and selecting a book to take home. These books were provided free from the Literacy Trust and we would like to say a huge thank you to Georgia from the Trust and to our visitors. What a great morning it was!
Reading for enjoyment is key to improving literacy skills. The Young Readers Programme runs fun events where children can choose books to take home and keep.
