On Monday, year 4 widened their musical experiences with a trip to the famous Royal Festival Hall on the Southbank. There they took part and listened to the Philharmonia Orchestra.
This event happens annually. The children were taught a song which they then sang along with hundreds of children from other London schools. This sounded brilliant and was enhanced by the fantastic acoustics of the venue. The children also listened to performances of some of the most famous classical composers works including Mozart, Beethoven, Stravinksy, Bizet and Elgar.
They were additionally treated to some more modern pieces that have been used for films and even games such as: Ortiz Papalotes Shigihara Grasswalk from Plants vs. Zombies https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43SfJem13jQ Silvestri The Avengers (Theme) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxxhJXBjbIw What a cultural experience they enjoyed.
