Year 2 have been investigating maps as a stimulus for drawing. They compared different images of maps and sorted them into several sets of criteria: old and new; real and imaginary; maps and ‘not’ maps.
After a discussion of the purpose and features of maps, the children discussed their journey to school and features they pass along the way. Then they created their own maps of their journey to school using a variety of media.
