Year 3 children have learnt a new technique ‘frottage’ which is when a rubbing is taken from textured surfaces to form the basis of a work of art.
After creating a variety of textures on paper, the children tore different shapes to form a picture of a plant, which is linked to their science learning. What brilliant cross-curricular learning!
‘We used frottage. It’s where we get an object and rub a pastel to create different textures’

‘I’ve used black, brown, orange and green to create a plant. I even used brown for the stem.’
