In Year two Science this week, the children have been looking at materials and trying to find out which materials are waterproof. This means, which materials are best suited to keep things dry.
The children’s learning objective was to investigate which material is the best for keeping cotton wool dry, They used materials such as paper, tin foil, fabric, a plastic bag. The children wrapped the cotton wool in the different materials and then put them in water for 5 minutes and then 10 minutes.
The results proved that the plastic bag was the best material for keeping the cotton wool dry in water. The children thoroughly enjoyed this workshop and had alot of fun detecting which material would give the best result.
