World Book Day: We Love to Read at RPS and 2022 is the 25th anniversary of World Book Day – with the message for all children ‘you are a reader’! We will be getting involved in a variety of book related activities next week and children are invited to dress up on Thursday 3rd March as their favourite book character. We can’t wait to see your wonderful creations.
Book tokens: Children will bring home a £1 book token next Thursday that can be used to purchase books.
Competition Time: RPS will be taking part in a National Book Token competition. Children should consider how to design the Book Token so that is it really ‘booky’. The design should aim at inspiring children to read. They can design as many book tokens as they like. It would be great to encourage them to get drawing at home. We will be selecting winners from each year group who will receive a prize in school on Friday 18th March. The national competition closes on the 3rd April so if children are enjoying designing at home they can send additional entries into school by the 1st April.
Workshops: On Monday 21st March and Tuesday 22nd March children across the school will be participating in a dance workshop that aims to bring books to life. These workshops are being delivered by West In schools.
Book Fair: From Monday 28th to the 30th March we will be holding a Scholastic book fair in school. Books are a great gifts to give and the school receive free books when you purchase a book from the book fair. You can save your £1 book token and spend it at the book fair even though the date on the token says it expires on the 27th March. More information nearer to the time. So do consider saving your tokens
