On Friday 12th January 2018, our nursery classes had an amazing treat as they were visited by a few members of the London Fire Brigade. The children’s eyes lit up as they see the enormous red truck pull into the playground!
The children all had the opportunity to sit in the truck, look at the many tools that are used by the Firefighters to tackle fires and other callouts. They also were lucky enough to use the hoses and really get a feel for what its like to tackle a blaze as a firefighter in London.
As part of the learning topic “Understanding the world”, the nursery classes got a glimpse of how the role of a Firefighter is so important to our local community. It is an invaluable job and vital for the people of London and towns across the country. The nursery have a fire house of their own, which they were very happy to showcase to their visitors. The fire team were very impressed.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our visitors for taking the time to come along and show us a little glimpse of their world. We hope to see them again soon.
