29th September was the start of the Jewish New Year. Our children have been learning about Rosh Hashanah in class and assembly. During Rosh Hashanah Jewish people celebrate the New Year with celebratory food, such as apples dipped in honey which is a symbol of sweetness for the coming year.
Rosh Hashanah is the start of 10 days of reflection and a shofar horn is blown to encourage people to listen to god.
Happy Rosh Hashanah!
