Dear Parents & Carers
Everyone at RPS would like to wish you a Happy New Year! We hope the it brings you lots of happiness and exciting opportunities.
We were extremely pleased to see the children return to school on Monday and from my visits to their classrooms, they are clearly back and ready to learn!
We welcome Meredith who is teaching Kingfisher class. It has been great seeing how quickly the children have settled and adjusted to their new teacher.
Annalise and I have been busy observing children during phonics lessons across the school. On Monday I have organised Read Write Inc training for any members of staff new to our phonics program. Phonics is an early reading tool that helps children learn to read. We will be holding phonics workshops for parents so please look out for these, particularly our year 1 parents.
On Monday I talked in assembly about New Years resolutions. We looked at examples of kindness including ‘random acts of kindness!’ I challenged all children to be kind to each other. Hopefully we can all consider acts of kindness this year to spread a little joy to others.
