Year 5 children took part in a virtual Asthma awareness workshop on Thursday. This was delivered by medical students from Kings College Hospital. They found it very informative. They learned about triggers for an asthma attack – pollution, dust, viruses, and pollen.
They also learned about the different medical treatments for asthma and how to correctly use an asthma pump. They can explain clearly the signs to look out for if someone is having an asthma attack.
The children had a pre-quiz to assess their knowledge and then repeated the quiz at the end of the workshop, so they knew exactly how much they had learned.
