The Duchess of Cambridge is set to launch a new website, designed to help teachers talk to children about issues that can impact on children’s mental health. Issues ranging from bereavement, anxiety to eating disorders. The free website called Mentally Healthy Schools, is designed to suit primary schools in England and includes many online resources. To help launch this campaign RPS was approached by Sky News who had heard of the great work we do on promoting good mental health and well-being.
On Monday the Sky crew arrived and filmed Nina Hall conducting a mindfulness brain break with children from Kon Tiki class. They also interviewed both Kellie Ansell and Nina who have championed and led on the introduction of the Mind-up program in our school. But the stars were of course our children who were also interviewed by the reporters. They made us proud. Well done Rania, Abdul-Rayyan and Jessica!. You can see a mindfulness brain break on our website: https://rotherhitheprimary.co.uk/mindfulness/
Many thanks to Kellie Ansell and Nina Hall for the fantastic work they do championing this worthy cause. Thank you to our teachers for the dedication and care they show for the mental health of our children.
