On Thursday 13th February year 4 travelled to the Museum of London. This visit was planned to deepen their knowledge and understanding of their history topic – The Romans.
Did you know that the Romans founded London as Londinium in 47AD, later building a bridge over the River Thames and establishing the settlement as a port with roads leading to other outposts in Roman Britain? Around 200 AD a defensive wall was built, encircling the city and you can still see some of the remnants of this wall today. The children saw a variety of Roman artefacts and took part in a workshop that helped them understand life during Roman times
The children were very well behaved. We would like to thank the parents who supported the class on this trip.
