Maths week got off to a great start on Monday with a Year 4 Battle of the Bands! The two classes battled to show which class would reign supreme based on their times table accuracy. Brent class won this tournament, but I am sure Walbrook will fight back and are already honing their skills ready for the next battle to begin.
The children we very engaged and really enjoyed dressing up like their avatars. You can see some of the best dressed children below. Please encourage them to practise their times tables each day!
Across the school there were lots of practical math’s challenges to complete during the week. Year 2 for example had fun using waffles and raisins to explore fractions.
All children across the school completed math’s learning through an art based activity. Year 5 considered Victor Vasarely’s ‘Op Art Illusions and Year 6 explored decimals and percentages through mosaics and Islamic art. They also had some fun exploring shape through paper folding and origami!
A huge thank you to John for organizing Math’s week.
