October begins our celebration of diversity at RPS. We will be looking at Human Creativity from around the world, culminating in a whole school art project. We will explore ‘the roots that connect us and the identity that makes us who we are today.’ We will be sharing real life stories and experiences that have shaped the lives of real people starting with a special assembly from Galiema the Executive Head talking about living through apartheid in South Africa.
Children will learn about the timeline of Black History during October. We encourage you to share the new, updated collection of 100 great Black Britons. https://100greatblackbritons.com/ with your children. RPS is committed to ensuring that every child is represented by our curriculum. Moving forward, our celebration of diversity will not be limited to one month. We are working to weave diversity throughout every aspect of our learning, including every child and we look forward to sharing more information with you over the coming weeks.
