According to Asthma UK, over 1.1 million children in the UK are being treated for asthma. That’s 1 in 11 children, meaning that the average primary school class contain 3 asthmatic children.
There have been some exceptional samples of year 1 writing posted around the school this week. The children have been hunting for a missing bear and have written ‘Lost’ posters to try to find him. I am relieved to say he has now been found.
Can I remind parents that it is your duty to inform the school of the reason for your child’s absence on the first day that they are absent. If we are not informed of the reason for absence, we will ring parents and emergency contacts.
On Thursday afternoon RPS hosted the Debate mate competition. Children from a number of schools arrived to consider, puzzle and debate a range of questions. The event was a resounding success with a number of wins for Rotherhithe.
On Tuesday 5th February our year 5 children went to the Royal Festival Hall to participate in a music concert. They were led by Joe their Ukulele teacher. The children were fantastic and had a great time.
